A true leader understands that their strength is only as great as the team standing behind them. Having managed as many as 250 staff members at one time, I am deeply confident in leading large, diverse groups toward a common goal. I recognize that effective leadership is rooted in communication and, more importantly, listening. Every member of a company, from the front lines to the specialized trades, possesses valuable insights and unique opinions that can drive growth and innovation; to ignore that is to ignore the company’s greatest resource. I lead with the belief that a team built on trust and mutual respect will always outperform one driven by simple instruction. When staff members know their voices are heard and their manager has their back, they don't just show up for a shift—they invest themselves in the success of the project. Maintaining a strong, transparent relationship with my team is my top priority, because a team that trusts their leader is a team that works harder, smarter, and with genuine pride.

Effective management begins with a well-structured plan, ensuring every team member knows exactly where they need to be and why their work matters before the day even starts. I believe that a shared roadmap eliminates friction and builds confidence. But planning is only half the battle; I make it a priority to start the day by inspiring the staff, connecting their individual tasks to the bigger picture of the resort’s success. When people feel organized, informed, and genuinely valued, they approach their work with a level of energy and ownership that transforms a checklist into a mission.

True leadership isn't about standing back and giving orders; it is about being in the trenches alongside the team. I believe that a manager should never ask someone to do something they aren't willing to do themselves. By working side-by-side with my staff, I create a natural environment for mentorship and growth, allowing me to teach high-level skills while remaining humble enough to learn from the unique expertise of my crew. This hands-on approach builds a culture where we solve problems as a unit, ensuring that knowledge is shared, standards are upheld, and every team member feels supported by a leader who leads by example.
